Service Description

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 3:30-4:30pm (runs 4/22-5/20), 9 sessions For 4th and 5th grade Write Away! is a challenging and fun creative writing activity where your child will choose their own topics to write about as well as receive instruction and one-on-one support in the process of drafting, developing voice, focusing on an audience, revising and editing, and “publishing” a final document. We will also analyze quotes by famous authors regarding the art of writing. As a culminating activity, a professional writer will visit the class to discuss their career and field questions students prepare regarding the profession. In addition, these young writers will have the opportunity to share an excerpt from their own writing with our guests. Most importantly, your child will have the very special experience of having dedicated time to write away in a relaxed atmosphere and discover the pleasure of self-expression on paper. *This class is limited to ten children!*
