TEAM MEMBER

Shema has previous experience as a math tutor for 3rd-grade students in New Jersey through the AmeriCorps program. He worked with students to individualize instruction plans and design creative learning methods. He also worked for the nonprofit DreamWakers, running programs that established mentorship conversations with students around the country. Shema continues to work with students to learn the fundamental skills that will prepare them for their futures.

Shema graduated with a master's degree in Political Science at George Washington University and a bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Michigan.

Shema approaches each student with an understanding of their unique interests and what helps them learn best. He believes that students should have fun while learning and encourages them to become problem-solvers when picking up new skills.

In his free time, Shema enjoys hiking, rooting for all DC sports, and watching movies.
